Visit Sarasota County
In partnership with the tourism board Visit Sarasota County and GOSH PR, Alice was commissioned for an immersive illustration and content residency on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The primary goal was to capture the authentic spirit of Sarasota through location drawings and cinematography. This was then translated into a creative-driven digital campaign across Alice’s social media of over 86k travel and art enthusiasts.
Alongside creating content, Alice also led a live drawing event at the five star hotel Art Ovation. The objective was to highlight the creative core of Sarasota, inspire the UK market and drive tourism to the destination.
This case study showcases Alice’s unique practice using immersive on-location drawing, writing, film and visual journalism to document culture, craft and the people who shape the places we experience. Reportage illustrations are translated into visual stories for physical experiences, marketing and licensing products for tourism boards and luxury hotels.
Sketchbook Illustrations
All drawings created with Caran d’Ache Luminance pencils on site in Sarasota. All illustrations are then scanned and edited in Photoshop ready to be used across both physical, print and digital marketing.
There is something about stopping to draw a place that changes how you see it. You slow down and notice the quieter details. Drawing will always be Alice’s favourite way to explore a new location and feel deeply connected.
The act of drawing on location becomes an invitation for conversation - creating connections everywhere you go. Art enables you to communicate across language barriers and cultures when words can’t.

Art Ovation Hotel
During the week in Sarasota Alice led a live drawing event in the five star hotel Art Ovation. During this immersive drawing session, guests became part of the illustration process, watching and asking questions as the drawing came together - featuring the local landmark of The Ringling Museum of Art.
